Tumbler - Eyes Eyes Eyes by Erika Rier

These hand cast porcelain tumblers feature a hand painted eye and hair pattern with 22k gold tear drops. These tumblers are cast by hand with porcelain slip. Once dry, the artist paints each tumbler with 3 layers of each color underglaze and then paint black linework on top. They fire the tumblers and then a matte barely-pink glaze is applied to the inside and a clear glaze is applied over the hair on the outside, leaving the eye areas unglazed. After a second firing they apply 22k gold luster and fire the tumblers for a third and final time.
