Our Story

After launching and growing The Handmade Showroom (est. 2015), founder Marlo Miyashiro had visions of creating a new gallery-style shopping experience with a distinctively curated collection of fine wearable art and beautiful, functional housewares created by independent artists from all over the US and all over the world.

The original plan was to add this concept to our main store at The Handmade Showroom, but after a move to a much smaller space in early 2019*, the idea was shelved with the hopes that we would eventually find a larger space that could house both concepts comfortably.

As fate would have it, the space next door to the Showroom became available that same summer and we jumped at the chance to turn our idea into reality!

The space, a former Teavana store, was ready for an update! After 3 months of hard work to update the space and curating our inaugural collection of artists, we opened for business on September 1, 2019!

Bezel & Kiln - After

We had a fabulous Grand Opening party on September 15, 2019 where Marlo M. spoke from the heart to a room full of our artists and favorite customers while our amazing helpers modeled some of the jewelry designs from our inaugural collection.

 Fast-forward to December 2023 >>

Bezel & Kiln at Pacific Place

After opening in September 2019, we did our very best to keep the doors open on our storefront for as long as possible. We survived shutdowns, riots, and property damage, and eventually reopened with much hope in our hearts.

We found enough success to keep going for a few years thanks to our lovely neighbors, customers, and supporters. However, the lack of foot traffic, the lack of building signage pointing out the stores behind the escalators, and the weary state of the world took its toll and left us with no other choice but to close our beautiful storefront at the end of December 2023.

But all is not lost!

We are keeping the Bezel & Kiln website and brand going by creating a unique store-in-store concept inside our sister store on the 3rd floor, The Handmade Showroom at the end of January 2024.

In the meantime, we will continue to bring you amazing art jewelry and fine housewares made by independent artists from all over the world on our beautiful website with free domestic shipping for all orders over $100!

Please stay tuned for more information by following us on Instagramand Facebook, and signing up for our newsletter for first-notice of the upcoming Grand Re-opening with the Bezel & Kiln Collection at The Handmade Showroom.
