Michelle's explorations in ceramics include hand-carving wheel-thrown vessels with precision, creating a variety of channels that flow like water over the whole surface of the vase. When lit by an overhead light, the variations in thickness allows light to shine through.

From the artist's website: "Michelle’s work is made from an exceptional porcelain with a high New Zealand kaolin content. While notoriously difficult to work with, the fired clay is among the smoothest, whitest, and most translucent available anywhere."
